Three feared drowned in Godavari river

RAJAHMUNDRY: Three youths of a family were on Sunday feared drowned after they were swept away in Godavari river in East Godavari district while taking photographs on the concluding day of the 'Makar Sankranti' festival, police said.
The incident occurred in evening when seven youths, all related to each other, were taking pictures in the river at K Gannavaram when they were swept away, apparently due to strong water currents, said Ramchandrapuram Circle Inspector P Kasi Viswanath.
He said the nearby fishermen pulled four out of the seven youths, all college students, to safety.
While body of Y Suman (20), a B.Tech student, was fished out of the river, search is still on to trace Y Pramila (20) and Y Praveen (20).
