RAJAHMUNDRY: East Godavari police have busted a rave party and arrested 14 persons in the early hours of Monday. Five women who were present in the party were sent o rescue home. The incident took place in Burugupudi village under Korukonda mandal in East Godavari district.
The police have booked a case under Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act.
According to Korukonda Inspector, Satya Kishore, the police along with special party police and Special Branch have raided ABR Infra Naga Sai function hall in Burugupudi where the party was going. Fertilizers dealers from various places like Palakollu, Achanta, Tanuku, Gopalapuram and Dowlaiswaram have gathered for the party in Burugupudi. One local sales executive of a fertilizer company by name Naga Sai has arranged five women from Kakinada, Rajahmundry and Rampa Chodavaram for the party. On the directions of East Godavari SP Narasimha Kishore, the police raided the place and arrested 17 persons including five women. The function hall belongs to Sathi Bhami Reddy and his son Rami Reddy has given the function hall on rent of Rs18,000.
When the five women were brought to the party, the organiser has paid additional 15,000 for five more rooms. When the police raided the function hall, people have consumed alcohol and they were about to enter the rooms with the women. The police have seized condom packets and liquor bottles from the place. The police arrested 10
dealers, son of function hall, the person who arranged mike system and the driver who brought the women to that place. The arrested persons were produced before the court.
