With gender equality, mental health, Noni Johar 3.0 takes off

Sessions highlighted adolescent experiences, resilience, and advocacy for positive change.

RAIPUR: The two-day ‘Noni Johar' 3.0, organized by UNICEF in partnership with The Times of India, began on Monday, aiming to bring together over 100 changemakers, experts, and community leaders in alliance for behaviour change.
The event observes Girl Child Day and Mental Health Day, focusing on gender equality and mental wellness. The first session sparked impactful conversations, creating a powerful platform for adolescents to advocate for a fairer and healthier society.
The sessions focused on the experiences of adolescents, especially girls, highlighting their resilience in overcoming gender barriers and critical issues revolving around mental wellness. Participants took part in thought-provoking discussions and exercises aimed at driving positive change in their communities.
UNICEF India Youth Advocate and Indian Idol runner-up Nahid Afrin delivered an impactful session on gender equality.
A coffee table book, ‘Sadaya', capturing the success stories of volunteers who have made significant impacts in their communities was unveiled by panel members, including Abhishek Singh, Chetna Desai, Nahid Afrin, Ajay Jadhav Mandal, and others.
Trainer Vibhuti Duggar inspired the audience with her session, ‘Letters Full of Hope', focusing on self-reflection and emotional resilience. The final session of the day featured cricketer Ajay Jadhav Mandal, who shared insights about his career and life. He spoke about managing match pressure, fulfilling the expectations of family and country, and maintaining discipline and fitness.
A key discussion revolved around gender equality in sports, with the cricketer acknowledging the need for equal opportunities for female players and calling for systemic support to bridge the gap.
#NoniJohar Third Edition is part of an ongoing effort to provide adolescents with the tools, platforms, and opportunities they need to become active participants in addressing global challenges. With a focus on gender equality, mental health, climate action, and nutrition awareness, the event aims to inspire a new generation of changemakers.
