Vice-president Jagdeep Dhankar, home minister Amit Shah to guide Chhattisgarh legislators

Raipur: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and Union home minister Amit Shah are scheduled to address the legislators of Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha ahead of its budget session. The orientation sessions are planned for January 20 and 21, respectively, with the goal of providing guidance to the newly elected representatives on the functioning of the legislative assembly.

Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker, Dr. Raman Singh, met with the vice president and the home minister on Thursday in New Delhi. During the meeting, he extended an invitation for them to visit Chhattisgarh and address the newly elected legislators. The focus will be on guiding the legislators through the intricacies of parliamentary procedures and ensuring the efficient functioning of the legislative assembly.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar is scheduled to arrive in Raipur on January 20, while Home Minister Amit Shah will follow on January 21. The agenda includes meetings with the newly elected legislators and ministers of the state.

A comprehensive awareness programme is planned for the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly during their visit. Technical sessions will cover parliamentary rules, traditions, and the procedural aspects of legislative sessions. The programme also aims to address any queries or concerns raised by the new legislators.

In the recently constituted Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, 38 first-time legislators have taken their oath, with 28 representing the BJP and 10 from the Congress. All these representatives, elected by the public for the first time, will benefit from the guidance provided by the Vice President and the Home Minister during this unique initiative.
