RAIPUR: Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, has set an ambitious target of producing 100 million tonnes of coal from underground mines by 2030, leveraging advanced mining technologies like continuous miner. The announcement came during his two-day visit to South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), underlining the govt’s renewed focus on boosting underground coal output and achieving energy self-reliance.

He also launched the Main Mechanical Ventilator (MMV) at Churcha Mine, designed to improve airflow deep within the mine, thus ensuring safer and more efficient working conditions.
