Two Maoists surrender in Narayanpur

RAIPUR: Two Maoists including a senior cadre of KutulArea Committee carrying Rs five lakh cash reward surrendered before police in Narayanpur district on Friday.

Surrendered Maoist Sonwa was positioned as supply team commander at the level of area committee member for Kutul Area Committee for past 13 years, and another woman Aarti Salam was member of Kodliyar Janatana govt school department for nine years.

Sonwa and Aarti Salam were involved in Maoist activities across the Narayanpur, Kukdazhor, and Sonpur areas. They cited reasons of increasing pressure and fear experienced by Maoist operatives due to relentless actions by security forces.

Sonwa and Aarti Salam were given a Rs 25,000 cheque each as part of the govt’s incentives under its surrendered Naxal policy.
