RAIPUR: A minor tribal girl was gangraped at least twice by four govt officials - the principal of her school, the headmaster, a teacher and a forest deputy ranger - in Chhattisgarh's Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, police said on Tuesday after arresting all four accused.
"If police find more people were involved, we will take action against them too," Surguja range IG Ankit Garg told TOI. The rapists took videos of the sexual assault and blackmailed the class 11 girl.
The 17-year-old survivor is in shock and not in a condition to talk, said an officer, adding that she did manage to give enough details of the gang rape to file a case.
The teenager is a bright student and takes computer classes at a private centre after school. Since her home is around 25km from school, she would stay back for computer class. Some of her teachers knew this.
On Nov 15, when the minor stepped out after computer classes, one of her teachers showed up there and offered to drop her home, say police. She agreed. However, he took her to a rented house where the school principal - at 55, the oldest of the accused - headmaster and a deputy forest ranger were already waiting.
They took turns raping her and filming the act.
They let her go with the threat that they would release the videos on social media if she spoke to anyone about it. Traumatised and terrified, the schoolgirl battled her agony and didn't tell anyone about the gang rape.
