RAIPUR: The SVEEP icon from Mahasamund , Dr Bishwanath Panigrahi, 73, organised an awareness programme in Raipur to promote voter turnout on May 7. He distributed turmeric and yellow rice mixed voter invitation letters at various locations in the city, urging citizens to vote. He organised awareness programme at different street corners in the state capital Raipur and encouraged the public to ensure a 100% voter turnout on the polling day. In the final phase of elections in Chhattisgarh, seven Lok Sabha seats including Raipur, Durg, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Surguja, Korba, and Bilaspur will be going to the polls.
First, he arrived at the Raj Bhavan to deliver the voter invitation letter, which was a mix of turmeric and yellow rice, to the Governor. Since the Governor was not available, the invitation letter was left at the Raj Bhavan office. Afterward, he proceeded to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer where he handed over the invitation letter to Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale along with other officials and staff.
The SVEEP icon distributed turmeric and yellow rice mixed voter invitation letters to create awareness at Avanti Chowk, Malviya Road, and Jaistambh Chowk in Raipur.
Despite the hot afternoon sun, they encouraged individuals to vote without letting the strong heat discourage them.
He then went to different shops at Lodhi Chowk, knocked on the doors of some houses, and showed the voter invitation letter with respect. During the two-day campaign, over 2000 individuals received voter invitation letters mixed with turmeric-yellow rice.
