Stray dog pack kills 10 goats, shepard left shattered

Raipur: A pack of over 20 stray dogs killed 10 goats in Ranitari village of Balod on Wednesday, leaving a shepherd devastated as his primary source of income was wiped out in minutes. Nirmal Yadav and his wife were grazing their herd when the dogs attacked, surrounding and mauling the animals. The couple tried to intervene but were forced to flee as the pack turned aggressive.When the dogs dispersed, 10 goats lay dead. Returning to the spot, Nirmal broke down, clutching one of the animals. "I am ruined… I don't know how I will survive," he said.Villagers said such attacks are increasing and pose risks to livestock and people. The family has sought compensation, while residents have demanded urgent action to control stray dog packs.
