clinched a silver medal in the ongoing Junior World Weightlifting Championship 2022 in Heraklion, Greece.
Gyaneshwari Yadav, the state's first female weightlifter, heaved 156 kg and bagged the silver medal.
She is the state's fourth sportsperson to participate in the championship and the first to win a medal. Other weightlifters like

, Ajaydeep Sarang, Anita Shinde, and Madhusudan Janghel had earlier participated in the World Championships.
Gyaneshwari’s father Deepak Yadav is an electrician.
Gyaneshwari started weightlifting in the year 2018. From school and national competitions to the All India University tournament, national junior weightlifting, and national youth competition she has been representing Chhattisgarh and bagged several medals. She got her official training in

and has reached the World Championships.
