Raipur: Students from Eklavya and Prayas residential schools run by the state's tribal development department have delivered a strong performance in the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) Class 10 and 12 exams, securing a significant share of top ranks.
In the Class 10 merit list, 21 of 42 students are from these institutions. Sandhya Nayak of Eklavya School, Arjunda, topped the state, while Parirani Pradhan of Eklavya School, Baloda, secured the second rank.
Overall, 13 students from Prayas schools featured in the top-10 lists across both classes.
The department runs 17 Prayas residential schools, which provide free education along with coaching for competitive exams such as engineering and medical entrances.
In Class 12, 128 students from Prayas schools passed in the first division. At the Prayas Residential School in Gudhiyari, Raipur, 19 girls scored above 90%. Ragini Kanwar from Korba topped her school with 95%, while two students scored a perfect 100 in Biology.
In Class 10, 48 of 119 girls scored above 90%, with six students securing 100 in Mathematics. Deepanshi ranked second in the state with 98.83%.
Overall, the merit list includes 11 students from Prayas and 10 from Eklavya schools, reflecting their strong academic performance.
