RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh’s power corridors are abuzz after Kaushalya Devi Sai, chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s wife, called herself ‘super CM’. What began as a light-hearted remark has now erupted into a full-blown political spectacle, with BJP and Congress exchanging jabs and sparking a lively debate.

The controversy began when a video of Kaushalya surfaced online. Seemingly in jest, she remarks in the video that many officebearers contested polls and became MLAs or MPs. “Without contesting, I am like MLA and MP and now am known as super CM,” she says, laughing.

Former CM and Congress’ Bhupesh Baghel shared the video on X, saying: “Till now, nobody knew who was running the govt. Many thought it was being run by the CM, finance minister O P Choudhary, or other BJP members from Himachal or Bihar. Now we know that our Bhauji (sister-in-law) is running the show!”

Chhattisgarh BJP retaliated quickly, accusing Baghel of distorting a comment made by a “simple and innocent tribal woman” and prying into the private affairs of a tribal family.
