On shoulders of Kriti & Priti, CG beats MP on day one of women’s T20 tourney

Raipur: Hosts Chhattisgarh opened the Senior Women's Invitation T20 Tournament with a 52-run victory over Madhya Pradesh, powered by Kriti Gupta's 57 and Priti Yadav's all-round performance. The tournament is being hosted by the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh (CSCS) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Naya Raipur.In the second game, Vidarbha outplayed Jharkhand by 74 runs, with Bharti Fulmali starring with a fluent 53.After Madhya Pradesh won the toss and elected to field on Sunday, Chhattisgarh's Aishwarya Singh (19) and Neha Badwaik (37) provided a strong start. Kriti Gupta struck 57, while Priti Yadav's unbeaten 37 lifted the team to 152 for 3 in 20 overs. For Madhya Pradesh, Vaishnavi Sharma and Honey picked up one wicket each.Chasing 153, Madhya Pradesh faltered and were bundled out for 100 in 19.5 overs. Anushka Sharma (34) and Kalyani Jadhav (18) were the only notable contributors. Chhattisgarh's bowling attack shone, with Mahak Narwase claiming three wickets, while Priti Yadav and Aditi Panwar bagged two each. Priti Yadav was adjudged Player of the Match for her all-round display. In the day's second match, Vidarbha defeated Jharkhand by 74 runs. Opting to bat first, Vidarbha scored 145 for 3 in 20 overs, with Bharti Fulmali top-scoring with 53 and Riddhi Nayak remaining unbeaten on 45. Chandmuni and Shampy Kumari claimed a wicket each for Jharkhand. Jharkhand's reply never took off, as they collapsed to 71 all out in 19.5 overs. Vijeta (22) and Palak Kumari (12) were the only batters to reach double figures. Komal Zanzad starred with the ball, taking three wickets, while Ayushi Thakre picked up two.
