RAIPUR: The proposed first international golf course project to be set up in Naya Raipur will be shifted to a new sector in state's new greenfield capital city.Earlier the project was to be implemented in sector 39 but now a decision has been made t0 shift it to sector 24 due to space crunch at the earlier site.
The Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) has started the process of creating world-class infrastructure to offer sports, residential and tourist facilities.
NRDA has also planned development of a Golf Course, Club House cum Sports Complex along with allied infrastructure on public private partnership (PPP) on design, build-finance -operate-transfer (DBFOT) basis.
NRDA chief executive officer Rajat Kumar said, "Previously, we were given land in sector -39 which was expected to be 100-acre as it is the minimum requirement for the construction of an International level golf course. Now due to some land crunch, we had to shift our project to Sector 24 in Naya Raipur. Here we have acquired 138.80-acre land and tenders have also been floated in the market".
He said the proposed 18-hole championship golf course will be of international standards which will be among the best golf courses in the country. The project is expected to cost around Rs 160 to Rs 170 crores.
