RAIPUR: Madhya Pradesh governor Ram Naresh Yadav would be taking over the additional charge of the Chhattisgarh state following the resignation of Shekhar Dutt. He would take the oath of office on July 2.
The office of the Chhattisgarh governor had fallen vacant after Dutt tendered his resignation, a fall out of the regime change in New Delhi. He was among the few of the Congress nominees who quit after getting feelers from the centre.
Dutt had taken charge as the Chhattisgarh governor in January 2010. The President of India accepted his resignation on June 23. Following Dutt's resignation, the governors of Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand had also quit.
Meanwhile it is learnt that the BJP is finalising names of 10 governors, who are likely to be appointed after the ensuing budget session of the Parliament.
