Raipur: A Pune-bound IndiGo flight from Kolkata made an emergency landing at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur on Thursday after a woman passenger suddenly fell unconscious mid-air.
IndiGo flight 6E-135 was diverted to Raipur after the cabin crew alerted the aircraft commander about the passenger's condition. The pilot then contacted Raipur air traffic control and sought priority landing for medical assistance.
According to airport officials, the aircraft landed safely around noon. A medical team and ambulance were kept ready at the airport, and the passenger was given first aid immediately after landing before being shifted to a hospital for further treatment.
Airport officials said the response was handled swiftly and in coordination with the airline, ATC, medical team and ground staff.
After completion of necessary formalities and once the situation normalised, the aircraft resumed its journey to Pune around 1pm.
