Maoists kill sarpanch

Raipur: Maoists on Tuesday killed a village sarpanch in Sukma district of Bastar division.
Sarpanch Pune Sanna of gram panchayat Pongabhejji was abducted by a group of armed Maoists, who intercepted his way near the village when he was returning home on Monday night. His body was recovered on the road, at Rabdipura in the outskirts of village, next day with his throat slit.
Sources said it was an attempt to create terror among villagers so that they don’t participate in development activities or work in collaboration with police or administration.
Villagers are in shock and fear with the death of their sarpanch. TNN
