Man beheads wife, roams with her head
KORBA: A 58-year-old man has allegedly beheaded his wife and was later seen walking around with her severed head in a village in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, police said on Thursday. The incident took place on Wednesday evening in Bundeli village under Rajgamar police outpost limits. The accused identified as Salik Ram Yadav, who worked as a watchman at a local poultry farm, allegedly attacked his 50-year-old wife with a sharp meat-cutting weapon following a domestic dispute. He was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time. After the killing, he was seen moving through the village carrying the severed head in one hand and the weapon in the other. He later placed the head and the weapon in a plastic bag, left the body at the spot, and went to the Rajgamar police outpost. During questioning, the accused reportedly said he committed the crime due to frequent arguments with his wife, who suspected his character, police said. The couple, originally from Ajgarbahar Haldimada village in Korba block, had been working at the poultry farm for the last three years and have four children. Police have arrested the accused and seized the weapon used in the crime. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
