RAIPUR: Students of Shri Kala Manjari Kathak Sansthan, Bilaspur was recently awarded for displaying their classical performances in Bangalore.

In today's era, when the world is rapidly consuming western culture, and Bollywood is leaving its mark on the younger generation, some promising artistes are turning towards traditional classical music and Kathak dance and are engaged in carving this artform with their tenacity and dedication, stated a press release.

Students of Shri Kala Manjari Kathak Sansthan, Bilaspur, went to Bangalore and displayed their performances. Under the guidance of Kathak Guru Nrityacharya Ritesh Sharma and under the auspices of Jhankar Music Academy, this festival was organized at Shukra Auditorium, Bangalore, in which Kathak art seekers from Bangalore including Bilaspur Jabalpur gave their performance on 7th August.

A large number of students including Rajak, Palak Pandey, Apeksha Tiwari, Vanshika Mistry, Advika Tiwari, Aadhya Mistry, Anavi Chatterjee, Mehak Somani, Manjari, Dhani, Aditi, Namami, Namaya, Anshika, Arvi, Akshaya, Shubha gave their performances. Jayita Dutta, Kathak dancer was a special guest and encouraged all the participants by distributing prizes.

Indeed these students are engaged in this art with their hard work and dedication, and such programs should be organized from time to time to encourage these artists so that Indian and classical singing and singing in the coming generations.
