BILASPUR: Stung by the party's humiliating defeat in polls, Youth Congress workers set ablaze banners and posters kept at Congress Bhawan here, alleging infighting among senior leaders behind the defeat of the party in the November assembly polls.
Police said the incident took place late on Wednesday when a group of Youth Congress workers stormed the district Congress office, threw banners and posters around and later set them on fire raising slogans against state Congress president Charandas Mahant, former chief minister Ajit Jogi and others.

They claimed that all those who had enjoyed fruits of power in the past were working for cross purposes, spoiling their political future. Senior Congress leaders and the police reached the spot to pacify the agitated youth. The district Congress unit did not file a complaint with the police on the issue.
Bilaspur district Congress president Arun Tiwari said, "They have been misguided. After sometime they will realize their mistake. They are our own party men, hence we are not filing any complaint".
