RAIPUR: Indian Institute of Management Raipur (IIM-R) is observing a Hindi
pakhwada (fortnight) between September 15-28, which is part of the national initiative to promote the language.
During this fortnight, the institute’s cultural and sports club will organize several competitions for students, staff and faculty. Hindi elocution, poetry and Hindi proverb recitation and storytelling was organised. The guest of honour for the event was Pragati College assistant professor
Ashish Singh Thakur alias Akela.
The audience witnessed great ideas and talent of participants on issues that ranged from banning liquor in India to encouraging entrepreneurship to speeches on the poor plight of Indian educational institutions. Prof
Ashish, later, shared his views on importance of Hindi as a binding force among people.
