Teachers using cell phones is a distraction for students and the no-mobile-phone in-class rule will be applicable from the upcoming session.

The collector also said that a new period will be introduced in school, in which the students will be able to ask questions on subjects they are interested in. Focus would also be given on the attendance and punctuality of teachers, which will be recorded digitally, she said.

The collector also reviewed issues like teachers’ problems, mid-day meal operations, uniform distribution, caste and residence certificates, scholarships among others.

She directed the revenue officials to run a special campaign to issue all the necessary certificates to the students of Class 6 to 12, adding that text book distribution should also be finished by the end of this month.
