Gondwana tennis tourney in Raipur witnesses exciting performances
Raipur: The prestigious Gondwana Cup (Men/Women) All India Tennis Tournament began at the newly-built International Tennis Stadium-cum-Academy in Raipur on Monday.In the main draw matches of the tournament, Maan Kesharwani from Uttar Pradesh defeated Maharashtra’s Pradyumn Tomar in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3 followed by Tushar Sharma from UP defeating Utkarsh Mishra from Chhattisgarh, scoring 6-1, 6-2, Ratul Mahatta from Bengal winning a three-set match against Atharv Birajdar from Maharashtra with scores of 4-6, 6-2, 7-5, and Hemant Kumar from UP winning against Varun Tiwari from Chhattisgarh with scores of 6-3, 6-3. Neerav Shetty from Maharashtra defeated Sajal Keshavani from UP with scores of 6-3, 6-2, Atharv Raj Balani from Chhattisgarh defeated Aditya Kothari from Delhi with scores of 6-3, 6-1, Emon Bhatt from Chhattisgarh won against Digvijay Singh from Madhya Pradesh with scores of 6-1, 6-2, Varun Dhandhukia from Gujarat defeated Paramchandra from Maharashtra with scores of 6-1, 6-1 and Anand Gupta from UP defeated Darshit Jain from Chhattisgarh with scores of 6-0, 6-1.In the second round of Women's Singles Aditi Rawat from Haryana received a walkover against Ishika Minj from MP. Breshna Khan from Bengal defeated Sakshi Mishra from Chhattisgarh with scores of 6-1, 6-2, Jigyasa Narsinghani from Rajasthan defeated Anmaya Dubey from Chhattisgarh with scores of 6-1, 6-1, Maithili Mothe from Maharashtra defeated Ashmita Mitra from Bengal with scores of 6-2, 6-4 and Richa Chougule from Maharashtra defeated Nikanshi Chaurasia from Karnataka with scores of 6-0, 6-2.
