Raipur: Police lodged an FIR against Chhattisgarh Congress MLA Amarjeet Bhagat for describing Surguja collector Ritu Sain as someone "who looks like a heroine, but is never seen working" and calling education minister Kedar Kashyap "baruha" (mad).

The Sitapur MLA had on Saturday made these remarks during a protest. Addressing a gathering, Bhagat had said, "Sain looks beautiful, like a heroine, but is never seen working."

In my 48 years of life, I have never seen a person as 'baruha' (mad) as Kedar Kashyap," he went on to add.

BJP supporters protested and lodged an FIR on Monday over the remark as the comments went viral on social media. Police said that the case was lodged for disrupting traffic and using indecent language.
