Cong poses 21 questions for PM on ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ ahead of visit
Raipur: Ahead of PM Narendra Modi's visit to Chhattisgarh on Nov 1, the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) on Thursday posed 21 questions to the Prime Minister, raising serious concerns over the alleged failure of the state's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government to fulfil its electoral promises, collectively termed ‘Modi ki Guarantee'.Addressing a press conference at party office in Raipur, CPCC President Deepak Baij stated that the questions were being asked on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, just before the Prime Minister's scheduled visit to the state for the Rajyotsava celebrations. "We hope that in a democracy, the right of the public and the opposition to ask questions will be respected, and we will receive answers from the PM," he said.He questioned the pledge of one lakh jobs over five years, noting that fewer than 2,000 jobs have been delivered in almost two years, far below the expected target. The promise to regularise about 2.5 lakh contractual workers, including anganwadi, mitanins, and NRHM staff, remains unfulfilled. On social welfare, he demanded answers over the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, where only around half of the eligible 1.25 crore married women are receiving Rs 1,000 monthly aid, and they highlighted the discrepancy compared to Bihar's Rs 10,000 allowance. They cited law and order concerns, referencing increased crime and attacks on government offices, and challenged the government to explain the influx of drugs and Bangladeshi intruders. Further, he criticised Central rice procurement policies, lack of housing under PMAY since 2023, unavailability of fertilizers, closure of over 10,000 schools, and poor health facilities. He also pointed to electricity tariff hikes and train service cancellations, and demanded fair flood rehabilitation for Bastar.
