Nava Raipur

, with participation of several officers from across the country.

CM was the chief guest on the second day of three-day long conclave and in his address, chief minister Baghel asked the officers that efforts should be made to focus on development of villages.

The CM was welcomed by the officers in local Chhattisgarhi dialect followed by singing the Chhattisgarhi state song ‘Arpa Pairi

Ke Dhar

’.

CM took a round at the painting and photography display that was exclusive work by the IAS officers.

“IAS officers play a major role in execution of schemes and though all schemes are good, their effectiveness depends upon its proper implementation which should be ensured. By taking in confidence the people, any kind of work is possible and for execution of development schemes on the ground level, winning confidence of people is most crucial. Try to win them and you will see better results, mainly in Chhattisgarh, people are very easy and fast learners once given the direction,” Chief minister said in his address to IAS officers.

Insisting on village economy, Baghel said, to strengthen the economy, the villages should be given all sorts of facilities that would also generate employment. “Villages will become centre of manufacturing goods and towns will be centres of procuring those goods. The locally produced items need good marketing and those who know the art of selling goods, can sell the smallest ones in any market. Local goods should be introduced to the market.”

He referred to Chhattisgarh being a trade centre 2000 years and the ancient remains of it were found buried at the archeological site Patan’s Tarighat region, so it’s time to expand the ancient trade centre.

Chief secretary Amitabh Jain said that the officers should always strive to give best advice to the elected representative as they understand the work strategy and style the better way.
