CM Sai visits Galgam, lauds security forces for major anti-Maoist op
Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai made a visit to the remote village of Galgam in Bijapur district's Usoor Tehsil on Thursday, where he met with CRPF jawans and local residents, lauding the success of a major anti-Maoist operation that concluded recently. The operation, carried out in the Karregutta Hills, resulted in the elimination of 31 hardcore Maoist insurgents over a 24-day period and the seizure of a large cache of arms.In a show of solidarity and appreciation, CM Sai began his address with spirited chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Chhattisgarh Mahtari ki Jai." He praised the soldiers for their extraordinary courage and dedication, calling the mission not only a victory for Bijapur but for the entire state. "This area has long been considered a Maoist stronghold," Sai said. "This successful operation marks a pivotal step toward a Naxal-free Chhattisgarh."CM commended the jawans, stating, "Despite operating in 44-degree heat, you have shown unmatched bravery. I salute your indomitable spirit." He emphasized the state govt's focus on transforming security camps into "facilitation centers," bringing essential services to the remotest corners of Bastar. He noted that the first security camp under the current administration was set up in Muler, a move that has since brought ration supply, electricity, healthcare, schools, and mobile connectivity to surrounding villages. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the anti-Naxal strategy has made steady progress, with the govt committed to making Chhattisgarh Maoist-free by March 2026.He also highlighted the importance of public participation, particularly through initiatives like the "Niyad Nellanar", which has deepened the government's engagement with local communities.During his visit, CM Sai distributed ration and Ayushman cards, and issued approval letters for housing under a special project targeting Naxal-affected and surrendered families. He assured villagers that development efforts will be intensified, especially in sectors like education, health, infrastructure, and employment.Sai stressed that roads, electricity, and water infrastructure will be reinforced to help integrate remote areas into the mainstream. Special focus, he added, would be placed on education and health services in Maoist-affected regions. The Chief minister shared a meal with jawans and took photos at the Galgam security camp, boosting morale with patriotic slogans. The troops responded with chants of their own, expressing their unwavering commitment to the nation.
