Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Karmchari Adhikari Federation (CKAF) has urged CM Vishnu Deo Sai to release the pending 2% dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and pensioners. The federation, which acts as the umbrella body for over 100 government associations representing 4.5 lakh employees, submitted a formal request to the Chief Minister on Monday.
CKAF state convenor and Chhattisgarh Gazetted Officers Association president Kamal Verma pointed out that state employees currently receive 58% DA. This figure trails the central government's rate by 2%. The Centre implemented the 2% hike effective from Jan 1, 2026.
CKAF reminded the state administration of the BJP's election manifesto promise to maintain DA parity with the Centre. Rising inflation poses significant financial challenges for government personnel and pensioners, prompting the urgent demand for the arrears to be paid from the effective date.
