Chhattisgarh’s Ayush in team MI

Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s rising cricketer, Ayush Pandey, 19, secured a place in the Mumbai Indians’ team. He will be flying to England in a day or two to play against county teams. Mumbai Indians (MI) is being led by Piyush Chawla. Ayush said, “I am quite excited to be a part of the MI team which will play several matches against England's county teams. The experience of playing against county teams in English condition will certainly help me improve my performance.” The left-handed batsman made 609 runs in seven matches averaging 101.50 at a strike rate of 86.38 including 74 fours and four sixes in the BCCI Men’s U-25 State A Trophy. Ayush emerged as the leading run scorer in the group stage of the tournament. “I received a call from the MI team management for trials after my batting performance in the group stage of the tournament. On the basis of my performance during the trials, I have been picked by the MI team management. My performance has also sealed a place for me in the Chhattisgarh Ranji team,” he said. Coach of the U-25 team, Raja Banerjee, said that it is a proud moment for Chhattisgarh cricket which is too young now. TNN
