RAIPUR: Indian Olympic Association (IOA) formally allotted the

37th national games

to

Chhattisgarh

in 2019.

At its general body meeting held at Chennai attended by

Olympic associations

of different states .

Chhattisgarh Olympic Association

vice-president Vikram Singh Sisodiya and secretary Baldeo Singh Bhatia expressed state's keenness to host the 37th national games in 2019 at Chhattisgarh.

IOA president N Ramachandran and Secretary Rajeev Mehta agreed to the proposal and granted approval.

Talking to TOI, COA vice president Vikram Sisodiya said "To host the national games in 2019, COA has to make systematic arrangements. Though Chhattisgarh was supposed to host the national games of 2017 but due to two years delay in upcoming National Games which is going to held in Goa, Chhattisgarh got the opportunity for 2019. Now we have got the sufficient time to prepare infrastructure and players according to the National Games perspective".
