Chhattisgarh police arrest six involved in shooting incident targeting businessman in state capital
RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh police have arrested six individuals in connection with a firing incident that took place near Udyog Bhawan, Ring Road No 01, in the Telibandha police station area in the state capital. The target was a businessman sitting in his car.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Sandeep Yadav, 23, a resident of Sehaltetar Toli, Ghaghra Police Station, Gumla District, Jharkhand; Shahid Ansari, 22, a resident of New Azad Basti, Lohardaga, Jharkhand; Shahid Ansari, 25, a resident of Azad Basti, Pathalkurva, Lower Bazaar Police Station, Ranchi District, Jharkhand; Ravi Kumar Sen, 22, a resident of Mangala, Sadar Police Station, Sirsa District, Haryana; Lakshman Das Bazigar, 23, a resident of Salarpur, Sadar Police Station, Sirsa District, Haryana; and Amandeep Balmiki alias Ammu, a resident near Dhotar Bus Stand, Rania Police Station, Sirsa District, Haryana.
On July 13, two masked individuals on a motorcycle arrived outside P.R.A. India Pvt Ltd near Udyog Bhawan, Ring Road No. 01, Telibandha, and fired at a businessman sitting in a car outside the company with the intent to kill, police said in a press conference on Sunday. They then fled the scene. Following this incident, a case was registered against unknown assailants at Telibandha Police Station under crime sections 109, 3(5) B.N.S. 25, and 27 of the Arms Act.
Given the seriousness of the case, Inspector General of Police, Raipur Range, Amresh Kumar Mishra, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Santosh Kumar Singh, reviewed all aspects of the case and deployed specific teams for specific tasks. Based on the information received from all teams, an interstate operation was conducted with high-level coordination in Gumla, Lohardaga, and Ranchi in Jharkhand, as well as Sirsa in Haryana. This operation resulted in the arrest of six suspects involved in the incident, three from Jharkhand and three from Haryana. The identities of two other suspects have also been confirmed.
The main handler, Amandeep Balmiki, was found in possession of one pistol, eight live rounds, and one spent cartridge. Additionally, the Pulsar motorcycle used in the incident, with registration number JH/01/DL/4692, was seized. Based on the detailed interrogation of the six arrested suspects, further action is being taken.
Amandeep has connections with the Aman Sahu gang in Jharkhand and another gang in Punjab. He provided the shooters, vehicle, and money for this incident.
