Chhattisgarh legislator gives Rs 2.85L for labourers stranded in other states

: In a kind gesture when poorlabourers
are suffering due to lockdown, a ruling Congress legislator in Chhattisgarh has deposited Rs 1,000 each directly into the bank accounts of 285 labourers, hailing from his assembly constituencyRamanujganj

border.As per the details sent to TOI, total 285 labourers of Ramanujganj constituency are stranded in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat,
Madhya Pradesh
, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Rajasthan and one more state.Ramanujganj MLA
Brihaspat Singh
told TOI on Wednesday, I came to know about more than 500 labourers of Ramanujganj constituency, who are stuck in over 10 states of the country. We are trying to provide proper accommodation to these labourers who are stranded there, that’s why I decided to provide them financial relief.Singh said that neither I have donated in Prime Minister's Relief Fund and nor in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, but I have deposited a sum of Rs 1,000 each directly into the account of these 285 labourers of my constituency. These are people, who elected me for their betterment. Amid nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19 epidemic, it my responsibility to take care of these labourers and their families.

from his bank account at Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Balramur district.Brihaspat Singh has appealed to all the labourers of Ramanujganj constituency, stranded in other states, to have patience, stay wherever you are, we are constantly trying to provide you all the possible help. Brihaspat Singh is constantly collecting mobile numbers of the stranded labourers in various states and constantly calling them every day on their mobiles.
Meanwhile, the PNB bank officials told TOI that the amount of Rs 1,000 each has been transferred to the bank accounts of the 285 beneficiaries. As many as 250 have received their amount while some of the money was returned back to the bank due to wrong bank account number. It will be rectified after getting the correct bank account numbers soon.
Chhattisgarh state health minister TS Singhdeo has hailed the Ramanujganj MLA for his kind gesture.
