Chhattisgarh launches ‘Sushasan Tihar’ to fast-track public grievance redressal

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government on Friday launched Sushasan Tihar 2026, a statewide campaign designed to strengthen good governance by swiftly resolving pending public complaints and ensuring timely delivery of benefits under key welfare schemes. The initiative, which will run until June 10, focuses on taking government services directly to the people through special camps in both rural and urban areas. In rural regions, camps will cover clusters of 15-20 gram panchayats, while in cities, they will be organised ward-wise. Citizens can submit applications at these camps, where officials aim to provide on-the-spot solutions wherever possible, with most cases targeted for resolution within a month. Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed district collectors to prioritise time-bound and transparent disposal of complaints, underlining that efficient service delivery is key to effective governance. In its first phase, the campaign is focused on clearing all pending cases up to April 30. These include revenue-related matters such as land mutation, partition, and demarcation, delayed wage payments under MGNREGA, pending dues under welfare schemes, and issuance of essential documents like income, caste, and residence certificates. Immediate concerns related to electricity supply, transformers, drinking water, and hand pumps are also being addressed. A key objective of the initiative is to proactively connect eligible citizens with government schemes and social security pensions, ensuring that benefits reach those entitled without delay.To maintain accountability and oversight, ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials will visit the camps, interact with citizens, and monitor progress. The chief minister will also conduct surprise district visits, review development works, and gather direct feedback from beneficiaries. Motive of the move:The campaign aims to bridge the gap between citizens and government services by decentralising grievance redressal, improving administrative efficiency, and reinforcing public trust through faster, transparent, and accessible governance.
