NARAYANPUR: An IED blast occurred during a Maoist patrol search operation in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, leading to injuries for two army personnel, on Saturday. IG Bastar P Sundarraj confirmed that the patrolling team was attacked by Maoists who planted the explosive device.
In a related incident on Friday, 38 Maoist cadres were killed in a clash near the Dantewada-Narayanpur border.
The incident took place in the villages of Nendur and Thulthuli, as police said.
The deceased Maoists collectively had a cash reward of Rs 2.62 crore.
Police recovered the bodies of 31 cadres and have handed over 29 of them to their families. All 38 people have been identified.
