Chhattisgarh government disburses over Rs 135 Crore in welfare aid at 'Jandarshan' programmes
RAIPUR: At the 'Jandarshan' programme, hosted by chief minister Vishnudeo Sai and conducted at district collectorates, the Chhattisgarh govt has disbursed over Rs 135 crore to more than 1.30 lakh beneficiaries across seven welfare schemes, underscoring its commitment to financially assisting those in need.
Listing the details of the schemes, an official release stated that the Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Sahayata Yojana offers financial aid of Rs.20,000 each to the first two unmarried daughters of registered construction workers who are between 18 and 21 years of age and have completed their 10th grade. Since January 2024, the scheme has benefited 23,308 individuals, with a total expenditure of Rs. 46.61 crore.
Minimata Mahatari Jatan Yojana, focused on supporting female construction workers, provides a one-time grant of Rs. 20,000 for the delivery of their first two children. As of January 2024, 29,161 beneficiaries have received support, totalling an expenditure of Rs. 58.31 crore.
Similarly, the Mukhyamantri Nirman Shramik Mrityu Evam Divyang Sahayata Yojana is designed to assist construction workers aged 18 to 60, registered at least 90 days prior, in cases of death or disability. It offers Rs. 1,00,000 for natural death, Rs. 5,00,000 for accidental death, and Rs. 2,50,000 for disability due to a workplace accident. To date, 828 beneficiaries have been supported, with a total expenditure of Rs. 84 crore.
Under the Mukhyamantri Nirman Shramik Awas Sahayata Yojana, eligible registered workers with a continuous registration of three years, who do not own a house in the state, are provided a grant of Rs. 1 lakh for purchasing or constructing a home. This initiative has so far benefited 287 individuals, with a total expenditure of Rs. 2.87 crore.
The Mukhyamantri Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana targets construction workers aged 59 to 60, who are registered for at least three years. This scheme provides a one-time assistance of Rs. 20,000. Since January 2024, 997 beneficiaries have received support, totalling an expenditure of Rs. 1.99 crore.
Mukhyamantri Naunihal Scholarship Yojana offers financial aid ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 10,000 to the first two children of registered construction workers, covering education from class 1 to postgraduate levels. The scheme has supported 74,322 beneficiaries, with a total expenditure of Rs. 15.37 crore.
The Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana provides incentives to the first two children of registered construction workers who score 75% or more in their 10th-grade examinations. Rewards range from Rs.5,000 to Rs. 12,500, with additional benefits including Rs. 1 lakh, a two-wheeler grant for students ranking in the top 10 in state board exams, and coverage of educational and hostel fees for professional courses. For those studying abroad, up to Rs. 50 lakh is available for expenses. Since January 2024, 1,396 beneficiaries have been supported, with a total expenditure of Rs. 2.39 crore.
