CM announces 4% hike in DA of state govt employees

Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday announced that the Dearness Allowance (DA) of state govt employees will be increased by four per cent, taking it to 50 per cent of the basic salary. The decision comes ahead of Diwali festival, giving a reason to employees to celebrate, a state govt official said.
The official said that this decision will benefit nearly 3.9 lakh state govt employees as the hike will be effective from Oct 1 of this year.
After the announcement of the decision, chief minister Sai said that with Diwali festival approaching, the state has decided to increase DA by four per cent, taking it at par with the Centre.
Recently in March, Sai govt had hiked the DA by four per cent, ranging to 46 per cent of the basic salary.
