RAIPUR: The Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women on Sunday took suo motu cognisance of reports regarding alleged ‘nude parties' in Raipur.Commission chairperson Dr Kiranmayi Nayak instructed the Raipur senior superintendent of police (SSP) and the head of the cyber cell to probe the matter and submit an action-taken report within two days. The commission also asked the police for daily progress updates until every accused person was apprehended."There might be a gang behind the event. I fear these people may be trying to repeat what happened in Manipur, where two women were stripped and paraded naked. I would urge the organisers and their family members to publicly apologise," Dr Nayak said.Meanwhile, Raipur police purportedly detained some individuals in connection with the alleged parties after a complaint was lodged by a Congress leader and a Hindu organisation. Posters inviting men and women to attend without clothes went viral online. The organisers of the ‘Aparichit Club', which reportedly planned to host a nude party with drugs on Sept 21, are among those detained.
