Raipur: Sanjeet Desai, the right-handed batsman from Chhattisgarh, has become the only cricketer to finish in the top run-getters in both the One-Day and Test formats at the end of the Indian domestic cricket season 2022-23.
According to statistics released by the BCCI, Sanjeet finished seventh in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy (Test) with 695 runs and fifth in the Mens U-25 State A Trophy (One-Day) with 350 runs.
He has scored over 1,070 runs, including five centuries and four half-centuries, averaging over 85 in both formats of the cricket. In the seven test matches, he accumulated 695 runs and in one day he scored 350.
“It gives me immense pleasure to be the only player to achieve this feat. I was not in a good shape before the start of the season, but had the belief that I will make the opportunity count. Thanks to my coaches Umesh Patwal and
