RAIPUR: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator Saurabh Singh, who represented Akaltara assembly segment in Chhattisgarh, has joined the Congress- ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Singh had quit the BSP last week, indicating that he could join the Congress. He took the primary membership of the Congress at the state party headquarters in the presence of state Congress chief Charandas Mahant.
Nandkumar Patel, who was killed in the May 25 Maoist attack, had taken initiative to bring Saurabh Singh into the party during his tenure as PCC chief. Later, Singh told reporters that he had joined without any pre-condition.
