Body of 5-day-old girl found wrapped in paper and towel on roadside

BILASPUR: A body of a five day-old girl was found on roadside in a locality of Ambikapur, the district headquarters of Surguja. The body was wrapped in paper and towel.
Police have sent the body for autopsy and have begun investigations. The incident was reported from Dhobipara of Turripani ward under Gnadhinagar police station of the township.
Residents of the locality first informed the ward corporator about the matter, who in turn informed the police.A large crowd had gathered at the spot when the police team arrived there.
Preliminary inquiry did not yield any concrete clue about the body.
Police suspect that the body was thrown in the locality by someone who is an outsider, as no woman was found in the locality who had recently given birth to a child. Further investigations into the matter are on.
