BILASPUR: Block education officer of Gaurela of the district has found the Salman Khan starrer film ‘Sultan’ so impressive that he is issued a circular to all principals of all the government schools of the block to show the film to school children. The district education officer has expressed surprise over BEO’s circular in this regard.

Gaurela BEO RL Kujur issued a circular to principals of all the primary and high schools of the block on July 28 (a copy of which is with TOI) stating that the film ‘Sultan’ is being screened at a local theatre and the film is a quality entertainment for the children. The circular further states that the school children can be shown the 12 to 3 show of the film between July 29 to August 4. The school principals will have to inform the BEO the local theatre a day prior to they wish to bring the students to show them the said film. The BEO has also the contact number of himself and that of the theatre.

Following the circular, 70 school children of village Girwar along with their teachers came to Gaurela and watched the film on Saturday. The 12 to 3 show on Saturday began an hour late due to rains.

According to BEO he issued the circular as the film is essentially about the traditional sports of wrestling and it could inspire children to practice it.

In the meanwhile, district education officer Hemant Upadhyay expressed ‘surprise’ over BEO’s circular and said that he would ask the BEO what prompted him to issue such a circular to schools.
