Ayush’s maiden ton powers CG’s command against TN

Raipur: Opener and left-handed batsman Ayush Pandey's inaugural Ranji Trophy century, complemented by the formidable batting performance of the top order, propelled Chhattisgarh to an impressive first innings total of 500 against the hosts Tamil Nadu. Ayush, who is participating in his sixth match of the four-day format since commencing his career in first-class matches last season, swiftly reached his century (124 off 184, featuring 19 boundaries). Ayush received valuable support from his opening partner Rishabh Tiwari (46 off 108), and together they forged a substantial 124-run opening partnership.Capitalising on the partnership, Anuj Tiwary (84 off 173), Sanjeet Desai (82 off 202), Eknath Kerkar (52 off 128), and Ajay Mandal (64 off 106) collectively ensured that the team amassed 500 runs in the first innings. Ajith Ram emerged as the most successful bowler for the hosts, claiming four wickets while conceding 132 runs in 47 overs. Manimaran Siddharth too secured three wickets.At the conclusion of the second day's play, Tamil Nadu lost one wicket for 23 runs, with the wicket being claimed by right-arm offbreak bowler Jivesh Butte.
