Raipur: Chhattisgarh regional science centre witnessed score of people on the first day of International Human Rights Day celebration on December 10.
In the first 10 days of December, more than 2000 students from 23 schools visited the centre. Students of Prayas and Eklavya schools, and Pahadi Korva belonging to a special backward tribe also visited the science centre.
Major attractions at the science centre comprised activities like a 3-D show and a planetarium show which was attractive to many, especially the students.
It also showcased a 3D film based on NASA, while the planetarium show entailed a night sky that was a major attraction to the audience present there.
The science centre has a huge green science park and a science exhibition, which showcases all the scientific models. Along with this, every Saturday there is a quiz that tested the knowledge of students from different schools.
Besides, an awareness lecture is being provided by scientists and engineers Dr Shirish Kumar Singh and Amit Kumar Meshram. The discourse focused mainly on the relationship between human rights and science. They discussed how analysing the ways of research in the science field can protect the rights of the public as expressed by the International Covenant on Economic and Cultural Rights (ICESCR).
During the lecture, scientific officer Pragya Kadam, Varun Kumar Mishra, Tarini Verma, and Shreya Mishra, along with other officers were also present.
