Youth arrested for murder

PUNE: A 22-year-old youth was arrested on Monday for allegedly assaulting and killing Shivlal Pyarelal Bashin (40), a labourer, at Khadki on Sunday night.
The Khadki police have identified the youth as Imtiyaz Muzaffar Khan of Surati Mohalla, Khadki.
According to senior police inspector Vilas Gawli, Khan and Bashin knew each other and the latter had got to know Khan's mother as well.
"Khan allegedly resented this and on Sunday, around 10 pm, when Bashin was returning home, Khan assaulted him with sharp weapon. Bashin died on the spot," Gawli said.
A police team led by inspector Umakant Gite (crime) of the Khadki police station arrested Khan.
