Young changemaker Aditya Shukla launches global campaign for education transformation
PUNE: In a bid to recognize the significance of education, especially in small villages across India, Europe, and Africa, Aditya Shukla, a dynamic youth leader and president of the Global Youth Leadership Initiative (GYLI), has initiated a global campaign. The objective of this campaign, as per the GYLI statement, is to reshape educational landscapes and provide opportunities for young individuals globally.
In addition to the global campaign, Shukla is actively contributing to grassroots-level change by organizing a handloom workshop in collaboration with Narayani and Sadaya Foundation. This initiative aims to foster sustainable change while supporting underprivileged communities through an e-commerce platform that generates income.
Shukla embarked on his Education Hands projects in 2020 and was appointed to serve on the National Youth Leadership Council in January 2022. Speaking about his endeavors, Shukla emphasized, "We are implementing educational reforms, addressing critical issues like climate change, facilitating access to education for underprivileged children, managing social media campaigns for significant causes, and organizing supply drives for women’s shelters."
During the campaign's announcement, Shukla shared insights into his journey, highlighting his initial volunteer work for organizations like Global Citizen and Rotary International before ascending to the role of director at the Narayani organization.
The GYLI-led education awareness drive is set to span 26 countries, engaging 960 young leaders united by a shared commitment to global education improvement. The statement underlines their collaboration in addressing diverse backgrounds and experiences, aiming to bridge the education gap and empower individuals from all walks of life.
Shukla, recognized as a digital pioneer, is actively breaking down barriers and extending technological benefits to marginalized segments. The statement notes, "There are segments lacking the benefits of digitization, and we are helping them get connected," reflecting Shukla's dedication to ensuring digital inclusivity. Shukla draws inspiration from real-life heroes such as Sindhutai Sapkal and Mamta Sapkal, planning a visit to Sindhutai's orphanage in Pune as a testament to his journey back to his roots.
