Sub-inspector Maya Gawade on Monday said, “The victim and injured are friends. The duo attended the Christmas midnight mass and reached Camp and from there they were on their way home when the bike driven by Pillay skidded after he lost control over the vehicle”.
Gawade said, “The victim Vipuri riding pillion died due to serious head injury. The biker Pillay escaped with minor injury to legs. The duo was not wearing helmets.”
“The Sassoon general hospital has collected Pillay’s blood samples for seeking expert opinion to find out whether he was drunk or not at the time of the accident.
