Vaishnavi Hagawane death case: Nilesh Chavan sent in magisterial custody till June 19
Pune: The court of judicial magistrate first class Alisha Bagal on Saturday sent Nilesh Chavan, a business associate of Shashank Hagawane and an accused in the May 16 dowry death case of Vaishnavi Hagawane, in magisterial custody till June 19. Chavan, the 11th accused arrested in the case, was later sent to Yerawada Central Prison. Shashank was Vaishnavi's husband. Bavdhan police's senior inspector Anil Vibhute produced Chavan before the court following the end of his police remand. Police filed a remand report requesting the court to send him in magisterial custody for 14 days. Assistant public prosecutor Priyanka Vengurlekar appeared on behalf of state. Chavan was represented by lawyer Swanand Govindwar.
