Badshah is the brother-in-law of scrap dealer Salim Siddiqui, who owns SR Traders.
Assistant inspector Prabhakar Pawar said that Chaudhary, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh, was working at SR Traders for the past two years. Chaudhary and another worker, Sanjay Maurya, were staying in the godown of SR Traders.
"On Thursday night Badshah and driver Azar Salam of Pimpri had come to the godown. While Maurya was preparing dinner for them, three unidentified persons barged into the godown and started assaulting Badshah and Chaudhary with the sharp weapons. Chaudhary, who received 15 blows all over his body, died on the spot," Pawar said.
Azar Salam was also thrashed by the suspects, yet he rushed Badshah to the Yashwantrao Chavan memorial hospital in Pimpri. Later, Badshah was shifted to a private hospital, where he succumbed during treatment.
Pawar said that the reason behind the murders was still not known. Salim Siddiqui, the owner of the godown, had gone to Uttar Pradesh. He is now returning to Pune. "We will get information from him," Pawar said.
Inspector Ravindra Chaudhar of the Bhosari police station is investigating the case.
