Two killed in accident in Mahalunge MIDC
Pune: Two workers from a company at Mahalunge MIDC died after their motorcycle was hit by an unknown vehicle late on Wednesday night on the Pune-Nashik highway at Kuruli village in Khed taluka.The deceased were returning home from work at the time of accident.The Mahalunge MIDC police identified the deceased as Gautam Kamble (28) of Chakan and Mukesh Gaikwad (35) of Dapodi. "Kamble died on the spot because of severe head injuries, while Gaikwad succumbed to the head injuries during treatment in a hospital on Thursday," said Anis Mulla, sub-inspector of the Mahalunge MIDC police.Mulla said Gaikwad and Kamble worked in a private company at Mahalunge MIDC. On Wednesday, they were returning home from work around 10.15pm. While travelling on the highway, their motorcycle was hit by an unknown vehicle. "The duo fell down and died due to severe head injuries. They were not wearing helmets," Mulla said.The officer said there was no power supply in the area at the time of the accident, which meant CCTV cameras at the spot were not working. "We are checking other CCTV cameras to identify the vehicle involved in the accident," Mulla said.
