Two held, Rs 15.30 lakh jewellery seized

PUNE: The Alankar police on Tuesday arrested two criminals and solved two burglaries. They recovered 530gm gold ornaments worth Rs 15.30 lakh from the duo.
The police team led by senior inspector Rekha Salunkhe arrested the suspects Atul Amle (22) and Vishawnath More (22) both from Gosavi Vasti in Karvenagar after they were tipped off.
The duo had broken into a flat of Vasant Hankare in Patwardhanbaug in the early hours of September 14, and made away with 480 gram gold ornaments.

“While probing the burglary, constables Rajendra Landge and Nitin Kamble received a tip-off about Amle and More’s involvement in the theft,” assistant inspector Sandip Buva, told TOI.
Buva said both were questioned. “During interrogation, the duo admitted to their involvement in the burglary at Hankare’s house and revealed their involvement in another burglary in February at Dahanukar Colony,” he said, adding that the duo had sold the ornaments to two jewellers. “We have recovered 530gm gold ornaments from them,” Buva said.
